In this work, blue chroma key—traditionally used to displace backgrounds in film and video—is combined with the remains of decommunised bas-reliefs. Rather than inserting a new image, the chroma surface operates as a refusal to inherit a fixed narrative: a space reserved for projecting possible futures instead of continuing to inhabit inherited ones. The meeting of these materials opens the surface for projection, transforming a static image into a mutable site for new temporal and political imaginaries. The work invites a reconsideration of how futures are constructed and which future narratives we choose to project forward.
